Ledger Lines, Youtube, Stickers!

I’ve been SO busy going nuts with new projects! I want to update you with what’s been going on behind the scenes.

THIS PRODUCT IS NOT AVAILABLE YET! I need to hear from you: Would you prefer a digital download version of this game or would you like me to make the cards and ship them to you (physical copy)?

Here’s some background: The “Don’t Loot My Ledger Line” game is a variation off of the “Don’t Swipe My Sharp” game — a really fun and fast paced card game played at the piano with the keyboard as a gameboard. It helps reinforce learning accidentals (sharps and flats!). A wonderful customer gave me the idea to create a ledger line version of the game. I thought this was BRILLIANT idea, and a fun visual/interactive way to help students memorize or easily identify those PESKY ledger line notes!

Some products really make sense as digital downloads: worksheets, music, — anything that you need new copies of with each students. But I got to thinking about how a deck of cards is something you make once and reuse over and over. I wondered if I should make these cards in my studio and sell them to you as physical copies! Pros of Digital Download: Get it INSTANTLY! Con of Digital Download: Printing and Cutting it yourself — (that could be a pro for some people!).

Let me know what you think: Should I release “Don’t Loot My Ledger Lines” as a physical copy or as a digital download? Comment below!!

I started a new vlog series on Youtube! In this series, you withness the behind the scenes of me creating new teaching resources, demonstrations of existing piano materials. I also create some of my more crafty/artsy products! This isn’t really a “how-to” series, as “vlogs” are meant to be sort of a day-in-the-life journey. The first episode takes you though a demonstration of printing and playing “Don’t Swipe My Sharp,” the creation of a custom notepad. It also introduces a new vinyl sticker fundraiser I’m doing! (More on that below!)

This type of series may not be for everyone, but I personally follow a bazillion vlogs by other makers/creators, and I really enjoy peeking “behind the curtains” into their processes. So check it out — And if you enjoy the first episode, let me know!

I’ve been working hard on the second episode, and it should be out either Saturday or Sunday Subscribe to my Youtube channel if you’d like alerts and updates to new videos!

VINYL STICKERS ARE NOW AVAILABLE IN THE SHOP! I first sold these stickers at the TMTA conference last June with the intention of adding them to my online store. These stickers hit BIG at the conference. Each sticker is hand-drawn by me and I’m so happy to say that people have been ordering them! 📦It’s been a blast for me to pack up your orders! 📦

Vinyl stickers differ from the sticker sheets in the Betty Sue Sticker Club because they are larger, sold individually, waterproof and UV resistant. They can go in the dishwasher so they are perfect for water bottles. Use them on your laptops, ipads, instrument cases, cars, anywhere! This is wonderful for yourself or as gifts for the music lovers in your life!

The “Music Heals” sticker is a beautiful sticker featuring Texas wildflowers and that sweet sentiment that “Music Heals”. All the profits of the “Music Heals” sticker will be donated to the Kerr County Flood Relief Fund.

ADDTIONALLY — you can get this same artwork I illustrated on a SHIRT as well over at my friend Elizabeth Gutierrez‘s Piano Passport shop! This shirt comes in both YOUTH and ADULT sizes and you can choose your shirt color! 50% of profits of t-shirt sales will also be donated to the Kerr County Flood Relief Fund as well.

I’m obsessed with this month’s Betty Sue Sticker Club Design. It’s the “Adagio Pals”! — a cute squad of slow moving animals (tortious, snail, sloth, and inchworm) who just like to remind everyone that it’s cool to go slow. You might see these guys pop up again in future projects.

I think my personal favorite is the little polaroid picture of all the buddies together. I’m considering turning that into a vinyl sticker!
