Rebranding, Earrings, and Dinos

Hello Everyone! A big winter storm has just hit my region, which is very exciting for us in my typically warm climate! It’s mostly thick ice, so I don’t think we’ll be building any snowmen. I’ll be honest– none of us down here know how to drive in these conditions, so it’s best for us to just hunker down! 😀

Luckily for me, I have a lot that I want to update you on! This should probably be 3 different blogs, but I’m going to try and squeeze it into one while being brief and succinct!

Rebranding!

My mother, Susan, started this website as a blog to share fun teaching ideas with piano teachers. She soon began creating teaching materials and offering many of them for free. As the site grew and costs increased, she opened the store.

Before she passed away, she asked me to take over the website. I left my job as a university professor and began running the site full time. It has been a joy to carry on her work!

As the business grows, I am also letting it evolve in a way that reflects my own interests. I am a digital artist by trade and have loved illustrating resources for piano teachers. Educational materials will continue to be a big part of what I do.

What is new: I will also be introducing products for all music lovers, including musical gifts and stationery. You have already seen this with my stickers, and coming soon are notepads, sticky notes, and handmade earrings. My first pair is available now.

Teachers, rest assured. This will always be the home of the Susan Paradis Collection. And I will continue creating teacher focused resources like the Studio Kit, and coming soon are the Picture Scales Practice Book and Animal Alphabet Flash Cards. You will simply start seeing more fun physical items in the shop as well.

Betty Sue = Gifts and Stationary for ALL MUSIC LOVERS

I’ve already changed my Instagram and Facebook to the “Betty Sue” brand. So if you have been following me there, you may already have seen this in action. Since I’m just one person doing all the work of this business, expect the re-branding to slowly roll out. If you have any questions, please let me know! I want to make sure I explain myself clearly!

What does this mean for you? Nothing! The website URL has not changed. I just want you to know what all this “Betty Sue” imagery is about.

By the way: “Betty Sue” comes from my name “Elizabeth Susan Paradis.” My middle name is my mom’s name (I’ve always LOVED that!) So Betty is a nickname for Elizabeth, and Sue is a nickname for Susan. (I personally go by “Liz”.)

New Studio Kit!

The new Studio Kit is “Dinos in Love” themed. It will be available Jan 26th. THAT MEANS YOU HAVE UNTIL JAN 25 TO PICK UP THE YETI STUDIO KIT! Then I’ll retire the January (Yeti) kit and replace it with the February (Dinos in Love) kit.

The Dinos in Love Studio Kit includes: 1 Assignment Sheet, 1 Bookmark Design, 1 Greeting Card, 1 Pennant Banner, 1 Poster/Binder cover, 3 Coloring Pages, 1 Month Calendar, 6 Funsheets, 2 Bulletin Board borders, 2 Weekly Punch Card Practice Ticket designs, 1 Note Pad design, 6 Dino Decor cutout pictures — AND SPECIAL FOR VALENTINES DAY: 1 page of 4 valentine cards. Check out my Instagram and Facebook to see previews of it all!

Can you believe you get this many printables for only $9.99 delivered to your inbox? NEW, FRESH hand-drawn printables for your piano studio! And students look forward to the new themes every month! And of course you can save them to your computer and use them in the future, as well!

Betty Sue Sticker Club

Oh my goodness, I’ve been so pleased by how the Betty Sue Sticker Club has been growing! I’m truly touched by how many people are enjoying my stickers. For the new year, I’ve changed the format from 3 narrow sticker sheets to 2 taller and wider sticker sheets. This allows me to have a bit more freedom with my designs.

Sunday, Jan 25 is the LAST DAY to get the Dinos In Love Sticker Sheet!

So if you’ve been curious about joining the sticker club, then sign up today and you can start off with these adorable Dino themed stickers I’ve drawn.

New Earrings

I’m so happy to announce that I’ve designed some musical Valentine’s Day Earrings that are available for purchase in my store! I got a laser cutter, which I’ve wanted for a LONG time. First I draw the design, then I cut the design with my laser cutter, and then I hand assemble the pieces together into earrings. It’s a little tedious, but I really enjoy it. So if you are looking for a way to bring some Valentine’s Day bling to your lessons this February, check them out! I make them in small batches, but I still have some left.

Here’s some details: They are 18k gold-plated hooks and rings. It was very important that they were hypoallergenic because I am all allergic to a lot of different metals. I’ve been wearing them all week, and they are so lightweight and comfortable. They are made from acrylic which is why they weigh so little.

Thank you for reading through my blog post this month! So much is happening around here. I’m excited to share with you even more coming up in the future.
-Liz
